Allegheny Wood Products is always looking for highly motivated employees to join our team in all areas of our company and part of that search involves creating opportunities for summer internships. Each year AWP looks to area universities for students in various disciplines who are looking to gain experience in their chosen fields while assisting AWP in our day-to-day tasks. Internships provide a great opportunity not only for students but AWP managers as well since several summer interns have joined Allegheny Wood Products as full-time employees upon graduation. Most often internships with our operations group involve doing special projects at various manufacturing facilities while forestry internships involve cruising timber, site reclamation, and spending time at AWP sawmills to better understand log to lumber production. Accounting interns typically work in our corporate headquarters in Petersburg West Virginia assisting members of our accounting staff while having the opportunity to put their classroom lessons into real world situations.
